So, October was a very busy month for us and maybe for you too. We have a lot of important things to talk about today, so please take the time to read this update.
Firstly, Hemlok has merch! You can now find our girl’s T-shirt, and unisex shirt in the new Merch section of the website! We have also finally received the retail version of Shades Of Passing, our debut album. You can get it right now from local Newbury Comic stores, from our shows, or right from our website! We now offer you the ability to order our merch online! Check it out here!
Secondly, in lieu of all the interest and traffic we have been generating to both the website and our other online profiles, we have launched a new themed Myspace layout. Make sure you take a look, it is pretty sexy. MySpace.
Hemlok and violinist Brianne Alves have decided to part ways. We have all come a long way since the formation of the new Hemlok lineup in 2007, however it seems we have begun to head in different directions. Bri entered a band situation where previous female members had faltered; in a role that could've seemed unnecessary. She actively helped reshape Hemlok into a more diverse, exotic unit and created an instrumental presence that many of our fans now consider a staple of our sound.
Our performance at Rock The Ink, hosted by the Dunkin Donuts center, has become a milestone, opening the door to a number of new opportunities, and is paving the way onward; A road forged from dedication and devotion to something we all created and continue to watch grow. Naturally, as with any form of love, this requires a serious amount of commitment and sacrifice. We understand the enormity of this requirement, and know that not every musician is willing or is in a situation that is able to accommodate loyalty on such a grandiose scale.
Hemlok will remain a 5-piece, but we are not trying to replace Bri. Her contributions, more than any other past member of Hemlok, are unrivalled in terms of the current sound and popularity of the band. We will miss her, but we know that Bri's life will be less hectic in a way that leaves her to better enjoy the MANY people and things that enrich it. For those of you who wish to see her off, she will be joining us on stage at the New Wave Café on December 13th to say goodbye and play with us one last time.
Consequently, we will be holding auditions for the next few weeks for a 5th member. We are versatile instrumentally, and are open to violin, keyboards, cello, etc. Vocals are preferred but not required. Please contact chris@hemlok.com or john@hemlok.com to discuss the position. We are also open to e-mails from fans voicing questions or concerns.

It's official. Hemlok debuted 2 brand new songs at last nights Blackstone gig. Masquerade and Jabberwocky are now in the mix, although Masquerade being as organic and orchestrated as it is, will not get as many appearances at live shows, but we will be sure to announce when it is coming out to play.

Hello hello.
Things will be a bit calm while we do several "behind the scenes" maneuvers. The second go-round of "Shades of Passing" will be readied and then sent to retailers. Also, recording has commenced on new songs, including "Masquerade" (candlelight Hemlok) and "Jabberwocky" (Obtuse, epic Hemlok). Also, preparation has been made on new instrumental "The Macra Terror" (Seriously f*%ed up Hemlok).
But shows! October will be an epic month of incredible shows everywhere, with all venues and local areas taken in. But, don't miss the end of October, when we dock in at The Dunkin' Donuts Center and play Rock the Ink. Big deal, big venue. And 100% happening! It's finally here. This is what you have been waiting for. Our debut album is finally finished, and will be released this August. The name of the album is "Shades Of Passing", and will feature 11 original tracks. Check back soon for more info on the CD Release concert, and availability. It's been awhile since we've said hello here on Hemlok.com, but that changes now. First off, a congratulations to Chris for surviving UMD, and graduating with a BA in computer science. Secondly, there have been some small changes to Hemlok.com that we should point out. You will notice that there is a new link on the right, to Hemlok's Facebook Music page. If you are a Facebook user please show your support and become a fan. We have also added age limits to our show listings so those of you who are under 21 can see ahead of time which shows to come out to. We have been spending a lot of time in the studio polishing and finishing up some tracks for.. thats right.. Hemlok's debut album. More info on that to come in the future, but for now, head over to our music page and check out Hope's Silent Scream, Hemlok's newest epic. Keep your eyes and ears open, We are expecting to have the CD finished around July. See you soon!

Hemlok is proud to announce the newist addition to the band, backup vocalist, and bass player Kevin Williams! You saw him with us at the Club Hell show we did in June of 07, and now hes back, for good. A very special thank you to Andy Doonan, our previous bass player, good luck with everything you do, you will be missed! Hemlok has finished new recordings of Seamless, Nyarlathotep, The Purge, and Headfirst. Some of these can be heard on the myspace, and will be posted here soon. Be sure to be at these upcoming shows, it's going to be a blast!

It is one hour before Christmas, so we have decided to give you an early present. A super update to Hemlok.com. Thats right, We even wore capes while we did it. Where do we begin? Let's start with the most important!
The Mardi Gras show scheduled for this Thursday, the 27th, has been postponed due to a scheduling conflict with the club. The new date will be January 31st. Be sure to catch us at the Blackstone and at the 18+ Sanctuary night at The Dark Lady before then.
Next, Hemlok has been working quite hard these past few weeks, and have 2 new songs for you. The first is called The Purge. This song debuted at The Bullpen and Players shows. We also have a never before heard song called Head First. Another reason to catch our upcoming shows. Lyrics to both these tracks have been added to the Music page.
Also, keep checking back to Hemlok.com because we have been in the studio working on new recordings of FOUR songs, Including the two mentioned above. I cannot say when they will be released, but keep checking back and you may be surprised.
Hemlok now has a YouTube.com account! There are only 2 videos up at the moment. The footage posted was from the Club Hell show in September. It was meant to be projected onto the screens behind us at the show, so if you are wondering why it's not prime viewing quality, that is why. The footage was just a bonus, however, we are working on getting some real band action on film for you. Ow ow! Lastly, Hemlok is happy to make an announcement, however late, about our participation on the White Noise Record's compilation CD, The Scene. The Scene features 19 tracks from only the best local artists. Hemlok has recorded a brand new version of Toad (or The Tale Of Hop-Frog) which is featured on this CD. chapter one and have our Cirque premier be one of the focal points in
